It
is very important to get the right size heater for your pool.
Buying a heater too small will not heat your pool quickly or
efficiently.
To properly determine the correct size heater for your swimming pool or hot tub, you need to know the following:
The Surface Area of your Pool
This can be done simply by measuring the exterior of your pool (Length X Width = square feet surface area of your water) A round pool surface area = (Radius x Radius X 3.143)
But also keep in mind if your pool is a little shallower than a
normal pool you may not need a large heater, the opposite goes for a deeper pool.
Volume of your Pool in U.S. Gallons = (Surface area X average depth X 7.5)
Knowing the volume(gallons) of your pool will allow for the best estimate of what size heater you need.
